Luisa graduated

Studies. She is
currently
employed with
Wells Fargo Bank
as a Business
Relationship
Manager and is
responsible for
soliciting,
developing and
maintaining
account and
lending
relationships
with small
business
customers. She
is originally
from
Guadalajara,
Mexico,
lived in
California
for over 12
years and has
been in the
Austin area for
over 6 years.
She is a member
of several
professional
organizations,
is a volunteer
for Make a Wish
Foundation and
has been on the
board of HWNT
Austin Chapter
for 4 years. “I
am a dedicated
professional
Latina that
loves working
with people and
being involved
in issues
concerning women
and the Hispanic
community. I am
passionate about
HWNT’s mission
and its
involvement in
the community
and I am excited
about the future

Alicia
Maldonado, Chair
Elect
Alicia Maldonado
is the
Communications
Program Manager
for the Greater
Austin Hispanic
Chamber of
Commerce. She is
responsible for
coordinating and
managing
external
communications
for the Hispanic
Chamber.
Specifically,
she is
responsible for
the website, and
coordinating all
public relations
efforts
including media
relations, news
releases and
working with
local media for
broadcasting and
publication
production. Her
responsibilities
also include the
monthly
Noticias
newsletter and
weekly email
updates to the
Chamber's
membership. She
joined HWNT in
2007 and served
as VP of Public
Relations.
Alicia graduated
from The
University of
Texas at Austin
in May 2004 with
a dual B.A. in
Mexican American
Studies and
Hispanic
Studies. She is
a scholar of the
Latino Financial
Issues Program
from UT Austin
and is an alumni
of the Hispanic
Austin
Leadership
Program, class
of 2006-2007.

Laura D. Cardosa
is the Director
of Development
for the Hispanic
Scholarship
Consortium (HSC),
a nonprofit
public charity
that she helped
launch and
develop to
become a
catalyst for
awarding
scholarships to
Hispanic central
Texans pursuing
higher
education. Under
Laura’s
leadership, the
HSC has grown
its membership
to 28
collaborative
partners and
awarded nearly
$300,000 in
scholarships in
just three years
of operation.
Prior to joining
HSC, Laura
worked for the
Greater Austin
Chamber of
Commerce as
Membership &
Fund Development
Manager for two
years and the
Tourism/Convention
and Outreach
Manager for one
year. A recent
graduate of
Leadership
Austin’s
inaugural Emerge
program, Laura
has a passion
for diversity
and community
service. She is
a member of
several
organizations
and volunteers
for
organizations
supporting
youth, higher
education and
professional
development
including the
Hispanic Women’s
Network of Texas
Austin Chapter,
where she serves
on the board of
directions, the
Girl Scouts of
Central Texas,

Amy Carrillo was
born and raised
in Lubbock, TX.
She received her

at Anderson Mill
Elementary.

Non-Profit,

Caroline has
been in the
financial aid
industry for
over 10 years
and is currently
a Senior Account
Executive for
Texas Guaranteed
Student Loan
Corporation, a
national
guarantor agency
located in Round
Rock, TX. She
is also a member
of several
professional
financial aid
industry
organizations
and most
recently chaired
the Texas
Association of
Student
Financial Aid
Administrators (TASFAA)
newsletter
committee.
Caroline is very
passionate in
helping bridge
the education
gap and helping
students and
families find
financial
opportunities to
help them reach
their
educational
goals. She is
an advocate for
education, our
youth and issues
affecting the
Latino culture.
Caroline is an
active volunteer
in the Latino
community and
with the Leander
Independent
School
District. She
is past
president and
graduate of the
Cedar Park
Citizen’s Police
Academy #17 and
is currently
participating in
Leadership
Leander ISD
2006-2007.
Caroline is a
member of Phi
Theta Kappa

and holds a B.S.
